About us

History

Founded in 1999, futuretext is a publishing company specialising in mobility, digital convergence and other emerging technologies.

futuretext started off as a consulting company with a small publishing arm to support the consulting business. However, in 2003 we focussed completely on being a publishing business. Today, the roles are reversed - with futuretext becoming mainly a publisher with a small consulting division.

At the last count, readers from thirty-four countries have bought our books including customers like BT, Nokia, Google and Ogilvy. Our authors include industry visionaries like Tomi Ahonen, Tony Fish, Rakesh Radhakrishnan and Mark Curtis. A partial list of organisations that have bought our books include: Accenture, Boston consulting group, BT(British Telecom), Ericsson, France telecom, Google, HP(Hewlett Packard), London school of economics, MIT(Massachusetts institute of technology), Nokia, O2, Ogilvy & Mather Ltd(London), Orange, Oxford university, Siemens, Telecom NZ, Telstra and Vodafone

futuretext was founded on the vision that ‘if you use the Internet, you cannot ignore the power of the mobile internet’. Both, our readers and our authors share that vision.

Our readers want to know how to create applications based on mobility and digital convergence. These are complex topics. Through our books, we can provide an unbiased view point that will take the reader from 'concept to execution'. Our books are key resources for decision-makers and entrepreneurs and have been included in features by the Mobile data association, IPA, (Institute of practitioners in advertising), 3GSM and the Chartered Institute of marketing.

Our authors have deep industry experience. This personal knowledge means they can provide authoritative insights and detailed coverage of the subject.

futuretext customers buy more than a book – they also engage with others in the industry through our events and forums. (For example Ajit Jaokar, the founder of futuretext, chairs Oxford University’s Next generation mobile applications panel (www.forumoxford.com) and Tony Fish runs the popular mashup events http://www.mashupevent.com/ in London ).
